Midweek Beach Break

On Tuesday we drove up to Michigan to grandpa and grandma’s house on the beach.  My mom came too.  For the first time, Gia dug her little toes in the sand...
slept on the beach...
and was rescued from the rushing tide by Abuelita.
Out in the distance the boys crashed their bodies into the rhythmic waves, one after another, until they were waterlogged and tired.
We visited the community garden the next day, a wonderful and prolific project headed up by grandpa and grandma.  On this day they were pulling weeds for one of the plant-for-the-hungry beds.  They donate the produce to the food pantry and other organizations.

And those vivid Michigan sunsets...
along with 4th of July fireworks on the beach (a little early)...
give us our annual snapshot of  summertime.

Wow, she is flexible to be able to nap on the beach! I am pretty sure my girls would have a mutiny and not sleep the whole day! :)

Where in MI are you located? Jon's family is from Grand Rapids and we are going to be in Bay City and Grand Rapids this weekend. I know you are probably packed, but I thought it was worth a try!

Looks like so much fun! We got home last night from being gone since June 12th! We had an extended stay in Memphis and were gone longer than expected, then on to Honey Rock. Anyway, we're home and ready to come meet sweet Gia when it works for you!! She is so precious and I have loved reading the stories of the adoption and transition. God is so good!
